MEET THE DESIGNER
Fiona Dashwood has gained her reputation by specialising in bespoke solutions for Brides & Mothers who prefer to look a little more individual. Fiona's stunning designs are individually created to flatter your figure and everything is beautifully made to measure in the relaxed atmosphere of her Oxted couture studio. Commitment to quality and attention to detail ensures that your finished garment will look wonderful, feel fantastic and fit you perfectly.
THE NEXT STEP
Consultations are by appointment and take an hour or so.
We believe that your design should be appropriate for your venue and a true reflection of your own style and personality. That's why we take time to listen to your own ideas, your likes and dislikes and really get to know you. It's also your opportunity to get to know us. We'll show you samples from our vast range of beautiful fabrics and sketch some design ideas.
We don't work to stock sizes and understand that every body is unique and that we all have bits we'd rather not draw attention to! So have faith in your designer and trust her judgement.
Costs are dependant on the complexity of your design, the type of fabric and amount of hand work involved. We'll give you an estimate at your consultation and ask for a deposit of 50%. The balance due on completion.
THE COUTURE PROCESS
We take up to twenty detailed measurements before creating your pattern. A calico toile (a complete mock-up of your design) is then made up for your first fitting. This is the opportunity to make any design adjustments before we cut the actual fabric. The first fabric fitting is the really exciting stage of the process, it will still have raw edges but now you can begin to see your design taking shape. Several fittings may be required before it's finally finished, checked and ready for collection.
DRESS WITHOUT STRESS
The most often heard comment from our new clients is "I've searched everywhere...I can't find anything that suits me or fits properly. I wish I'd come to you first, you've made it so easy for me." To make your life even easier, we have our own milliner and offer a range of beautiful accessories.
We also create beautiful garments for re-marriages, blessings, civil ceremonies, balls and special events.
